Where Mother Teresa Square is
Mother Teresa Square (Sheshi “Nënë Tereza”) stands at the southern end of Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard in southern Tirana. Gherardo Bosio designed it between 1939 and 1941 as the boulevard’s terminus; the boulevard was then called the Imperial Boulevard.
The square was originally named Piazza Littorio and later took its name from Mother Teresa, an Albanian Catholic nun. Its broad, open layout gives the boulevard a clear endpoint and connects the central city with the area leading toward the Grand Park.

What to see around the square
The buildings around the square bring together university, museum and civic landmarks. The Archaeological Museum and the University of Tirana rectorate occupy the former Casa della Gioventù Littoria Albanese complex beside the square.
